Vocational courses in Stara Zagora and Bratsigovo

The I can. On Equal Terms. project is well under way. The young people from the homes in Stara Zagora and Bratsigovo began their vocational training at the end of April. The training represents the third stage of the project implemented under a partnership between BTK Group, the Blagotvoritel Foundation, and Job Tiger The first two modules were implemented in the end of 2008 and prepared young people take the steps towards a successful start in independent life. After psychological training sessions and training on proactive behavior for the labor market, the youngsters chose the courses that would prepare them for their future vocation and independence. Fifteen young people from the Maria Terezia and Bulgarka homes in Stara Zagora chose courses as follows: hairdressing (3), cookery/hospitality (12). Seven young people from the Vassil Petleshkov home in Bratsigovo chose cookery and one of the girls there decided to prepare for the mathematics entrance exam for university. All are expected to complete their training in the beginning of July. As part of the project, three young men from Bratsigovo completed welding courses and were offered jobs, which they will be able to take after they finish school. The I can. On Equal Terms. Project has helped 27 young people determined to lead a better life, access additional opportunities for professional development.
